 I'he just had an email from LiveJournal saying that a lot of people have been having trouble paying for their accounts because of a technical problem.  As such , they are giving those affected a three month free extension.  My account lapsed last week, and I had no intention of extending it.  I've just looked and I have received the 3 free months.

It seems like LJ is trying desperately to prevent its user base from leaving.
